Culte[s], Adlane Samet

Video - Feature by Cultes.lab, 1 April 2025

Cultes.Lab interviews Adlane Samet about his work in his studio for the exhibition ‘Adma’.

“Born in Algeria in the 1990s, @adlanesamet approaches the image as a form of dreamlike imagery. No preparatory sketches, just raw, instinct-driven gestures.

Using pastels, charcoal and acrylics, he paints imaginary worlds populated by mythological, religious and surrealist figures. His works convey a sense of tension, but also a form of resistance, inspired by his country’s history. 🇩🇿🫀

For CULTE[s], Adlane details his creative process, which lies between construction and destruction.

“Adma” – until 12 April 2025 at Galerie Hamid Khellafi, 40 rue Mazarine, 75006 Paris
